Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss (1994)

Raw guitars, insane vocals, minimalistic drum work (ranging from hard rock to black metal) and tenuous synth scores: when taken together, the effect is -273°C. I get goose bumps every single time. A hasty and superficial hearing may give you the impression that it's repetitive, but once you get into the right mood (not 'happy-happy-joy-joy') the music hits you full force. Haunting music, you'll figure that out well before the music ends.
- That Which Once Was (14:21)
- If the Light Takes Us (08:05)
- In the Castle of Dreams (7:52)
- Emptiness (14:12)

"Never mind his extreme opinions and beliefs..." - Well actually he is in jail for slaughtering a former bandmate. Will probably be released soon? Has served almost ten years I think. And you know his eh.. christian-name is not "Varg"(meaning wolf), he was baptized Christian (meaning obviously christian).
I guess this guy thinks it important to put your money where your mouth is.
Thanks for the nice comments, mogwai!
Oh, and mort: cheers for the funny remark. (I do believe what you wrote about Christian being his christian name) Life can be cruelly ironic to some people :D
