Neptune Towers - Caravans To Empire Algol (1994)

Neptune Towers is a dark ambient synth-based side project formed in 1993 by Fenriz of Darkthrone. Inspired by e.g. Klaus Schulze (Tangerine Dream), Neptune Towers is intended "to enable the listeners to keep both feet off the ground." (Fenriz) This is largely a minimalist work with layers of samples. Occasionally Fenriz adds layers of repetitive, trancy elements. A fine example of dark ambient, in my opinion.

I also found this, apparently a quote from our dear friend Fenriz:

-ESCAPE THE EARTH-
UNLIKE MANY SYNTHESIZER/SPACE RELEASES
THIS ALBUM HAS NO VOCALS OR DRUMS. THIS IS
PURPOSEFULLY IN ORDER TO ENABLE THE LISTENERS TO KEEP
BOTH FEET OFF THE GROUND. VOCALS AND DRUMS ARE
PARTICULARLY EARTHBOUND INSTRUMENTS THAT WOULD
ECLIPSE THE MISSION OF THIS DISC.
-ESCAPE THE EARTH-

Gee it seems to have worked for other people... Use the word metalarea, dont use the prefix pw=. That might do it.
